Lowe Climbs High, Schlecks 3rd and 4th in L-B-L, Zipp Athletes Dominate at St. Anthony's Tri
April 28, 2008
Australian climbing ace Trent Lowe of Team Slipstream Chipotle Powered by H30 took second on Saturday's Brasstown Bald stage of the Tour de Georgia. The rider, on Zipp 202s, bested Team Astana's Levi Leipheimer (USA) but forfeited the overall lead to High Road's Kanstantin Siutsou (BLR). Lowe ended up second overall in the seven-stage tour while grabbing the race's Best Young Rider award. For more, visit the team's website.
Also at the Tour de Georgia, Jason McCartney rode his way to the tour's King of the Mountains award. Across the globe, brothers Frank and Andy Schleck (LUX) rode to 3rd and 4th places respectively in the spring classic Liege-Bastonge-Liege. Andy's long solo break-away was not enough to hold off eventual race winner Alejandro Valverde (ESP), second place David Rebellin (ITA), and brother Frank. Team CSC's website has all the details. Watch the action on cycling.tv.
In Triathlon, Zipp athletes dominated the St. Anthony's Triathlon in Florida. Matt Reed (USA) once again showed his peers his form, setting the fastest time in the bike leg and capturing first overall. Other Zipp athletes in the top 5 include Andy Potts (USA) second, Craig Alexander (AUS) fourth and Richie Cunningham (USA) in fifth. Sarah Haskins (USA) won the women's race by over a minute while Zipp athletes Mirinda Carfrae (AUS) and Sam McGlone (CAN) took third and fourth respectively.

Frank Schleck Takes Second at Amstel Gold
April 21, 2008

Team CSCs Frank Schleck (LUX) and his Zipp 404s took second place to Damiano Cunego (Lampre) at Amstel Gold in the Limburg region of the Netherlands. Schleck had this to say after the race: Of course I would have loved to win Amstel Gold Race again, but I'm happy with second place with the way the race developed. It was a very exclusive group of riders who were fighting for the victory, so it was a tense final. I tried four or five times before Cauberg, but they were keeping an eye on me, so there was only one chance left. Kim Andersen and Bjarne Riis told me to try an all in attack on the climb, and I'm sure I wouldn't have finished on the podium if I hadn't done that. Cunego was the fastest in the sprint, but I was able to make a difference on the climb after all. I'll be looking forward to the races next week and the race today pointed out for sure that both I and the team are very ready. For more information visit team CSC's website at www.team-csc.com

Slipstream Chooses 303 / 404 Combination for Paris-Roubaix
April 10th, 2008
Team Slipstream Chipotle Powered by H30 is choosing Zipp 303 / 404 combinations for this weekend's Paris-Roubaix. This SpeedShop combination provides the perfect mix of light-weight, aerodynamics, and stiffness.
The grueling classic, marked by treacherous cobblestone sections, puts every team's equipment to the ultimate test. Slipstream is choosing to use a Clydesdale wheel build which essentially gives the rim greater strength and stiffness. All of the team's rims feature Zipp's CarbonBridge technology, increasing impact resistance by over 30%.
