30 May 2006: Heather Fuhr wins Japan Ironman

While Zipp wheels were helping wins in the Giro, other stars were benefiting from our technology. Making her 15th Ironman win, Heather pulled ahead on the run to clinch the title from Sarah Fien.



29 May 2006: Zipp 1,2,& 1 in Giro

Congratulations to Ivan Basso (CSC), Phonak (team event) and second placed Jose Gutierrez (Phonak) all riding Zipp wheels in the Giro d'Italia. Basso won three of the six mountain stages and the time trial but his riding throughout the 21 stages was a model of consistency.



26 May 2006: Jens gives away 19th stage

JENS VOIGT of TEAM CSC gives away his 19th Stage Victory in the Giro d' Italia with a SLAP on the middle of the back

In the 19th Stage of the Giro, two riders escaped from a leading break of 12 on the finishing climb, and although Voigt looked strong enough to sprint against Garate (Quick Step) for the win, with 200m to go, he patted his breakaway companion on the back and told him to go for it. Garate didn't hesitate, and crossed the line as the victor.



23 May 2006: Zipp wheels speed ahead in 16th stage of Giro

Basso (CSC) riding Zipp 303s leads the race overall by 5:24 with Gutierrez (Phonak) on our 404s in second and Paolo Savoldelli third at 9:17.



22 May 2006: Ivan Basso retains his lead

Finishing in the pack, 7:44 behind the winner, after stage 14 of the Giro Basso retains his overall lead.

Luis Felipe Laverde won the 14th stage of the Giro d'Italia with a sprint to the finish just ahead of Francisco Perez.
