21 June 2006: Gear bags are moving fast

The new Zipp gear bag is proving to be a hot item. The thoughtful design, neat style and the high quality craftsmanship are attracting attention among riders. Comments from early adopters have been very favorable, in particular, they have appreciated the many pockets and pouches, the 3 alternative ways to carry the bag and the separate lower compartment for wet or dirty clothes.

16 June 2006: Did you know?

A Zipp SLC2 bar, carbon fiber end plugs and 145 stem will add under 300 grams to the weight of your bike. If you can get there for less, please be sure to let us know.

Our new gear bag weighs 1750 grams empty, has no less than 13 separate pockets, pouches and zipped compartments for all your goodies, and comes with a towel that can absorb and retain 8 times its weight in moisture.

We sell track cap front and rear kits, special brake pads that conduct heat away from the rim, minimise damage to carbon wheels and wear down clinchers far slower than other products we have tested.!



15 June 2006: Zipp wheels continue to roll

70th Tour de Suisse, Stage 5: La Chaux-de-Fonds - Leukerbad, 210 km, Steve Morabito from Phonak wins big. Morabito moved ahead in the last kilometre and crossed the line at Leukerbad 14 seconds ahead of Jurgen Van Goolen (Discovery Channel). This Steve's first year as a professional.



12 June 2006: Legh and Snowsill win big

Zipp wheels helped Legh win the Eagleman 1/2 Ironman and Snowsill to the top podium spot in Richards Bay, South Africa.

Emma Snowsill from Australia led the seventh stop of the 2006 BG Triathlon World Cup series, from the start to the finish line, winning in a time of 2:03:11.



11 June 2006: Desiree Ficker third in Eagleman Ironman

Desiree (4:24:16) made up time on the bike leg, but not sufficient to haul in Natascha Badmann who finished 3:16 ahead. This race is named after - the American national bird, the Bald Eagle and skirts the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Strong tidal currents are a feature of the course.

08 June 2006: David Zabriskie wins TT 3rd stage

Time trial specialist Zabriskie finished 53 seconds ahead of Floyd Landis and way ahead of the rest of the pack in stage 3. This win put Dave ahead of Philippe Gilberton by one point, but was not sufficient to give him the overall lead and the yellow jersey. Team CSC is still leading in the team competition with Phonak now in third position.

06 June 2006: Vanessa Fernandes shines in Mardid Tri

a9c541e162e660a887af3543735f3c10.jpgFernandes won the 2006 Madrid BG Triathlon World Cup (1.5k swim, 40k draft legal bike, 10k run) in a time of 2:06:08 0n Saturday 3rd June. She ran to the front after completing the bike leg with a 1 minute 45 second deficit and pulled away from the pack to win by 36 seconds. This extends her record of consecutive triumphs in the triathlon World Cup to 10 in a row.

Perfect team work by Team CSC in the final stage of Tour de Luxembourg secured American rider Christian Vande Velde the overall victory, as he was one of four Team CSC-riders in the front group of 15 riders. He was joined by Team CSC's Allan Johansen in Third place finish.



05 June 2006: Biking technology helps Escape From Alcatraz tri winners

Matt Reed rode to a 1:45 lead off the bike, and held on take 32-second victory over fellow American Andy Potts, finnishing in 2:03:36

Becky Lavelle rode a crushing 51:56 bike split - two minutes 42 seconds ahead of her closest pursuer to finish with a 66-second margin over runner-up Laura Bennettin 2:21:05 Just ask what wheels they were using!
