Zipps tops in World TT champs
Fabian Cancellara rounds off a fantastic year with a strong defense of his '06 title. After a great showing in the Tour de France, where he carried the yellow jersey for 8 consecutive days and captured 2 stage wins, the Swiss rider finished 52 seconds before Laszlo Bodrogi.
Not to be outdone, the second and third finishers in the woman's TT world champs were also riding Zipp wheels. Kristin Armstrong (image), defending champion and Christiane Soeder were unable to match the power riding of Hanka Kupfernagel (Germany), who won by 23.5 seconds.

New products on show at Interbike
Zipp Speed Weaponry will be showing an array of new products at their booth #4783 at Interbike this year. Two new wheel sets (202 & 1080), the VumaQuad - a compact crank (click image), the radical sub9 bulge disc, which measured negative drag in wind tunnel testing, new Carbon Bridge™ technology that increases stiffness and impact resistance across all rim and wheels.This will be introduced in the tubular rims first. Also on display will be an integrated all carbon shiftboss with "S" bend extensions, and a new all carbon brake lever with internal return spring.

Carlos Sastre rides to the podium in '07 Vuelta
Carlos Sastre finished 2nd in the overall rankings 3:31 behind Denis Menchov of Robobank and 3rd in the final King of the Mountains, which was also won by Menchov. Christian Van de Velde rode a very technical race, joining breakaways and helping Carlos move to 3rd place in the stage to Avila.

SRAM and Zipp sign acquistion agreement
SRAM and Zipp signed a Non-Binding Letter of Intent for SRAM to acquire Zipp today 09/21/07. The acquisition is expected to be completed within 60 days.
Operational plans will be finalized and announced when the acquisition is completed. Those plans will include:
1. The Zipp management team will remain intact and continue to report to Andy Ording. Andy will report to Stan Day. There will be no layoffs as a result of the transaction.
2. The current high-tech Indianapolis location will remain the manufacturing center for Zipp wheels and components.
3. The Zipp product warranties will be honored and continue to be serviced in the Indianapolis facility.
4. The Zipp distribution network will be maintained.
5. All Zipp contracts and business relationships will be honored.

'08 Wheel and Gear bags in stock
Zipp will be changing their look and feel for '08. New logo colors are white, silver and black. In the next month after Interbike we will be releasing new accessories to reflect this change. Currently we have socks, water bottles, gear and wheel bags available for purchase.

Discs and aero wheels pay off at the track
Zipp discs and wheels have been helping Marian College and the Cody Racing Team maintain a winning streak. Combinations of track disc sets, or 404, 808 and a rear disc have added to the athletic abilities of these winning teams, assisting them to multiple podium mounts.
Marian College dominated the team events during the recent USA Cycling Collegiate Track National Championships held in San Diego, CA, September 14-16. The Cody Racing Team will be in action at USA Elite Cycling Track Championships October 3-6 at Carson, CA. Zipp sponsors both teams.

Vanessa Fernandes rides Zipps to the podium again
Winning the World Cup round in Beijing and Olympic test event on Saturday 09/15/07 by more than a minute, Vanessa Fernandes gives notice she is in top form. Completing the 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run event in two hours and 36 seconds, she pulled ahead of Emma Snowsill on the run.
Vannessa , a Zipp sponsored athlete, and world Triathlon champion is showing great form has chosen to ride wheels that match her outstanding athletic performances.

Vanessa Fernandes the new triathlon world champion, winning the 2007 Hamburg BG TT champoinships, in 1 hour 53 minutes and 27 seconds.(09/01/07). Three-time world champion Emma Snowsill came from behind to gain the silver and Laura Bennett (USA) took the bronze.

EuroBike - new '08 Zipp products create a stir
At the EuroBike show Zipp unveiled an exciting array of new
and improved products. A BB30 compact crank set weighing only 560 g and passing
the new CEN fatigue test drew much attention, a reworked 202 32mm deep, dimpled
climbing and road racing wheel set at 1060g excited the crowd, an all new
extra deep 1080mm wheel set designed in the wind tunnel, showed the depth
in Zipp's wheel line and a new sub9 dimpled disc with a distinctive bulge that
gave negative drag in recent aerodynamic tests were the highlights.
Zipp wheels and cranks were also present on a number of top end racing bikes
from Stork (photo), Cervelo, Felt, Cannondale, Bianchi, Kuota and others.
