Riders on Zipp 606s steal the show

Michellie Jones_Kona175.jpgWith exciting and impressive wins by Normann Stadler and Michellie Jones and excellent  performances from Desiree Ficker and Lisa Bentley, who can doubt the advantage of riding Zipp's aero wheel sets in the Ironman Championships at Kona? This is winning where it really matters!

Normann Stadler, riding our Zedtech 6 prototype (404F / 808R), completed the bike split in 4:18 a new record (average speed of just over 26 MPH!) and maintained his lead during the run to win  in 8:11:56. We noticed Desiree Ficker flying past using the new Vuka aerobars and Michellie Jones on her pink Giant bike with a matching Zipp 606 wheel set and decals.

CSC rides well

Züri Metzgete175.jpgWith 3 riders in the first seven finishers of the Züri Metzgete, CSC continues to dominate the Pro Tour Team ratings at the start of October. Stuart O'Grady helped by his team mate Fabian Cancellara sprinted to second place 30 seconds behind an elated Samuel Sanchez of Euskaltel-Euskadi.

At the line Cancellara finished in 5th place and Sorensen in seventh. The CSC riders just could not find the energy in a very hard wet race to contain and catch Sanchez after he made an effective final attack 12km from the end on a short steep climb.
