Andy Potts on new Zipp sub9 disc wins World 70.3 champs

Andy Potts (USA - image on right ) pulled away from Oscar Galindez (Brazil - image on left) with only 200 yards to go to win the race by 4 seconds on the last leg. Both athletes were riding Zipp Tangente tires, discs and 808 front wheels. This is the first major win for the new Sub9 bulge disc with Carbon Bridge Technology™.

In the women's race, Zipp athlete Mirinda Carfrae turned in an equally world class performance finishing first on the day and setting a new world record. "Rinny's" wheel set of choice was the tried and true 404/disc combo. Samantha McGlone also pulled off an amazing race, taking 2nd place only four weeks after her 2nd place performance at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii. Sam rode the new Sub9 disc with an 808 up front. It was a banner day for Zipp and our family of athletes... Gold and Silver in both the men's and women's races, along with about half of the remaining top twenty places. Congratulations to all of the Zipp athletes, and thank you for an incredible triathlon season.
