April 14th, 2008
Zipp sponsored athletes continued their winning ways over the weekend with big results in France, Japan, and The Netherlands.
In France, Martijn Maaskant (NED) of Team Slipstream Chipotle Powered by H30 captured 4th place in Paris-Roubaix while riding Zipp 202s. Further south in France, Christian Vande Velde took second overall in the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe after winning the time trial stage. Australian superstar triathlete Emma Snowsill added to her extensive medal count with a win at the Ishigaki BG Triathlon World Cup. Snowsill led from start to finish claiming her eighth world cup title in a time of 2 hours 3 minutes and 11 seconds. “I just wanted to get out there and get a second hit out,” said Snowsill after her win. “I felt like I had a bit more of a plateau, not so many ups and downs. I'm really happy, 2 for 2 what more can I ask for at this stage." Visit www.emma-snowsill.com for more details.
At Sunday's Novilon Eurocup, a race of the UCI category 1.1 in the Netherlands, Kristin Armstrong (USA) from the Cervélo-Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team claimed victory in a race time of 3:25:32h ahead of Regina Bruins and Kirsten Wild (both NED). The former time trial World Champion Armstrong won the race over 137,7 km in the finish sprint shortly ahead of Bruins.
