Tour of California: Stage 7 wheel selections

Bike check

Although it was just an 80-mile day, today's stage had a bit of everything. The first half of the race was a gradual climb to Millcreek Summit in the Angeles National Forest, followed by a tricky descent towards the Pasadena. But once the race dropped down from the mountains, there were 20 miles of fast finishing circuits around the Rose Bowl. In picking a wheelset for today, riders had to balance getting over the climb with staying near the front in the finale. Here's what they were riding:

Garmin-Slipstream
Christian Vande Velde - 404
Steven Cozza - 202
Tom Danielson - 202
Tom Peterson - 202
David Zabriskie - 404

All Cervelo TestTeam riders were riding 404s, including Hayden Roulston who placed second on the stage in a photo finish.

The Jelly Belly team is also on Zipp this year. Kiel Reijnen's 202 front/404 rear was the only mixed setup we saw today.
