Zipp Athletes Reign Over The Weekend
Mark Cavendish (Team Columbia - Highroad) narrowly beat Heinrich Haussler and Thor Hushovd of the Cervelo Test Team in Saturday's Milan-Sanremo. Haussler and Hushovd were both riding the all new Zipp 808s with 88/188 hubsets. Cavendish’s 58mm wheels bearing the “HighRoad” brand also had some familiar looking dimples.
Last year Team Saxo-Bank's Fabian Cancellara won Milan Sanremo on Zipp 808s.
The Women's Cervélo TestTeam captured a 1-2 finish in the first day of GP Costa Etrusca with Emma Pooley taking first place and Kristin Armstrong taking second, finishing 19 seconds down from Emma. Day two of the GP Costa Etrusca saw win number two for Cervélo TestTeam. This time it was Sarah Düster coming through for the win.
Triathlete Chris McCormack finished second in Singapore Ironman 70.3 on Saturday.
