Zipp Gives One-Two Punch in Giro d'Italia Final Time Trial

Ignatas Konovalovas (LTU) of the Cervelo Test Team won the final stage of the Giro d'Italia.  The 14.4km time trial through the streets of Rome was marked by rain which added an unwelcome element of difficulty.  Konovalovas, the Lithuanian National Time Trial Champion, won the day's stage riding a Zipp 900 Disc rear wheel and a Zipp 808 front wheel.  His time was 18.42 (46.203 km/h).

Bradley Wiggins (GBr) of Garmin-Slipstream finished second, one second off the pace of Konovalovas.  Wiggins was also on Zipp wheels for the TT.

Today's stage victory marked the fourth for the Cervelo Test Team and Zipp over the three week race.  Team Leader, Carlos Sastre (ESP), won two stages on the svelte Zipp 202 wheelset.  Sastre went on to finish fourth overall.
