Two golds for Zipp at Worlds TT

Rainbow stripes never get old. Just ask Fabian Cancellara (Team Saxo Bank), who won yet another world time trial championship earlier this week in Geelong, Australia. It was the fourth world title for the Swiss rider, and they’ve all come on Zipp wheels. This time, he paired a Super-9 disc with an 808 front. And, just like last year in Mendrisio, he won by over a minute on a challenging course.

In the women’s time trial, Great Britain's Emma Pooley (Cervélo TestTeam) earned her first world championship on a 900 disc with a 404 front wheel. Despite a last-minute, UCI-mandated tweak to her bike position before the race, Emma held the fastest time at every checkpoint and crossed the line with a 15-second margin of victory.

Fabian’s teammate Richie Porte, a rising star out of Australia, capped off a breakout season with a fourth place finish in Geelong.
