Omega Pharma -- Quick-Step on roll in Argentina

Levi Leipheimer quickly added to the early season success of the Zipp®-equipped Omega Pharma® – Quick-Step® team with an impressive win in the stage four time trial of the Tour de San Luis in Argentina.

The Californian blazed the hilly 19.5-km course in 22 minutes, 33 seconds to win the stage and take the overall lead. Leipheimer’s stage victory was the third for the team along with two sprint wins by Italian Francesco Chicchi. The Omega Pharma® – Quick Step® team uses Zipp wheels, Zipp Service Course® bars, stems and seatposts as well as SRAM® RED drivetrains and Quarq® power meters.

In fact, the first four stages of the race have all been won with riders aboard Zipp wheels, with Alberto Contador of Team Saxo Bank winning on stage three’s mountaintop finish. Omega Pharma – Quick-Step’s Sylvain Chavanel of France also turned in a solid time-trial performance, placing fourth just 39 seconds off the winning pace. Team Saxo Bank rides Zipp wheels, Service Course SL bars, stems and seatposts and SRAM RED.

The Tour de San Luis continues today with a 160.6 km stage five featuring a mountainous finish before ending Sunday.
