Sun, mud... and victory
Zipp® wheels are race ready, whether it’s a sun-drenched triathlon or a mud-soaked cyclocross race.
Yvonne Van Vlerken of the Netherlands and Mirinda “Rinny” Carfrae of Australian took the top two spots in the women’s pro race at Ironman® Florida last weekend. What’s more, each rode 650c Zipp wheels – the perfect choice for smaller athletes. Van Vlerken used the Zipp 404 (650c) Tubular front wheel and 840 (650c) Tubular Disc to blast a race-best 4:40:20 bike split on her way to a course record of 8:51:35. Carfrae, back racing after her third place in Kona, used 404 (650c) to an impressive second place time of 9:05:03.
Cincy3 Cyclocross Festival
Ryan Trebon and Jamey Driscoll of the Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com Team basically camped out the top two steps of the podium throughout the three days of racing in crisp (and sometimes muddy) fall conditions. Trebon took the victory on the first two days of racing with Driscoll in second. And Day 3? Driscoll was victorious with Trebon second. In the women’s races, teammate Kaitie Antonneau collected a pair of third place finishes to continue her impressive cyclocross season. The Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com Team rides Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels, Zipp Service Course SL bars, stems and seatposts.
