Jamey Driscoll of the Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld.com Team summed up the course in Louisville for Saturday's UCI World Cyclocross Championships in three words:
“Heavy, rutted, slow.”
“It’s a lot muddier. It’s a lot less frozen than I thought it was going to be,” said Driscoll after taking some practice laps on the course Friday after organizers moved the elite men’s and women’s races from Sunday to Saturday because of flooding concern.
He said the schedule change didn’t affect him too much, though he added: “The bigger thing is calling all of my friends and family and letting them know to get here in time.”
As for the race, Driscoll is ready for a fast, intense race. “It’s going to be something to definitely pay attention to. Half of it is luck and half of it is your own self.… I’m hoping for good luck and hopefully having a good start and being able to find gaps to move up."
Our best wishes to all Zipp athletes
