Drapac Makes U.S. Debut on Famous Philly Course
After a daylong journey from Australia, members of Drapac Professional Cycling spent some time riding in the hilly Pennsylvania countryside around Trexlertown earlier this week. The tranquil surroundings, though, will be replaced Sunday by one of the most iconic and boisterous locations in U.S. cycling – the Manayunk Wall of the Parx Casino Philly Cycling Classic.
Drapac Riders to Watch at Philly
Darren Lapthorne - Showing good form with his recent third overall place at third overall at the Tour d’Azerbaïdjan
Robbie Hucker - A former mountain bike racer who’s “quite good over those sort of short steep hills," Breekveldt said.
Wes Sulzberger - "The course suits him perfectly and he's a clever bike rider,” Breekveldt said.
Most on the team will use the 45mm-deep Zipp 303 Firecrest with a few riding the 58mm-deep 404 Firecrest. The stiff and lightweight wheels climb well and also provide the aero efficiency and stability for the descent and ripping sections of the course along Kelly Drive. “We’re really lucky to have a selection from the 808 down to the 202,” Breekveldt said.
