Favorite SRAM product and why: RED rear derailleur - it just works. Takes loads of abuse, can be neglected, and still shifts flawlessly. More than any other part on the bike, it’s a “set it and forget it," piece, even when it probably shouldn’t be. I never worry about it skipping or missing a shift. It does what it’s supposed to. Every time.
Favorite Zipp product and why: Super-9 Disc - it’s one of those rare things that makes a truly palpable speed difference. You feel faster because you truly are faster. And not by just a little bit. It handles well, too, but it’s that rocketship feeling (and seeing the speed boost on your computer) that really make the Super-9 my favorite.
Do you train with a SRAM-Quarq power meter? Yes. On my tri bike, my road bike, and even on my MTB!
What is one surprising or helpful thing you learned about yourself from training and/or racing with power? You’re never as steady as you think you are. Or, after training with power almost every day for seven years, you’re never as unsteady as you might have hoped...
You’re stranded on a desert island and you have to choose one of each of the following:
One album? Vladimir Ashkenazy - Chopin Favorite Piano Works
One candy? Green & Blacks Dark 70% Chocolate
One vice? I’m not sure I want you to print it...
