Brief Overview: At the age of 28 Maik Twelsiek achieved an excellent 14th place in his first race in Hawaii. Fifth place at Ironman Australia in April ensured him a place in the 2009 World Championship. But the Commerzbank athlete wanted to do even better and took first place at Ironman USA inLake Placid. His first Ironman win in Wisconsin 2007 was a decisive factor in Normann Stadler inviting the young athlete to join his triathlon team. And his sporting development is fantastic so far: 2009 Twelsiek finished 12th in Hawaii.
