Every high-performance aero-cockpit begins with a great base bar. The Vuka Alumina, crafted from 6066 series aluminum, offers superior aerodynamics and ergonomics at an affordable price. The Vuka Alumina base bar resulted from big challenge given to our engineers – create a high-performance aluminum base bar that’s modeled after Zipp’s revolutionary carbon VukaBull base bar. Voila! The Vuka Alumina base bar is sleek with clean internal cable routing for easy installation. Handgrips are angled upward by 5 degrees for a natural wrist position when climbing or sprinting. The bar’s mounting area is wide to allow an array of positions to accommodate many riding styles and body types. The Vuka Alumina is compatible with all current drive-train systems and all plug-in style brake levers. It’s optimized for use with the Vuka Alumina Clip but is compatible with the VukaClip and most other clips on the market. The Vuka Alumina is lightweight at 250 grams has a 42 cm (outside-to-outside) width and a 31.8 mm clamp diameter. Its high-polish black finish and laser-etched graphics mean the bar looks as smooth as it performs. MSRP: $80, €72

Slowtwitch: Vuka Alumina a hit April 2012
Slowtwitch.com's Dan Empfield is full of praise in his analysis of the Vuka Alumina Clip and aero cockpit system: "Zipp has designed a bar here that meets just about every design and market imperative. It's modular. It's comfortable. It's adjustable. And it's cheap. It's like somebody at Zipp sat down and wrote out a list of everything that makes an aerobar work for end users, bike shop personnel, and bike makers. Then designed a bar, in the Zipp Vuka Alumina Clip, with those imperatives in mind. What a concept!" |
