Commerzbank Triathlon Team helps Japan

The Commerzbank Triathlon Team launches a charity campaign throughout April. In order to help affected people in Japan, the team is auctioning two original Scott bikes of the season 2010. Furthermore several Commerzbank athletes who are racing in April will wear charity race suits in order to express their commitment. Afterwards these trisuits will be donated for other auctions in favour of Japan.

th and finish on April 24th (8h:00 pm Central European Time). The collected money will be donated to the charity organisation CARE. The fans can auction the Plasma2 of Maik Twelsiek (size L) and Jan Raphael (size XS). With this bike Maik Twelsiek rode the fastest bike split ever at Ironman Lanzarote. Jan Raphael finished with his bike fifth at the Ironman European Championship in Frankfurt and sixth at Ironman South Africa 2010.

Both triathlon bikes include high-end components: They’re equipped with ZIPP wheels (404/808), a Profile Design aerobar and SRAM Red. The new bikes are worth each around 10.000 Euros (14.500 USD). Jan Raphael: “Both bikes are as new although they did a lot of kilometres with us. We’re very happy to donate them for a good cause.” Maik Twelsiek: “The future owners will be lucky dogs! So just go on eBay and place your bid in order to collect money for the people who have been affected by this horrible disaster.”

Team manager Jan Wendt adds: “We know that auctioning these bikes means just a small activity in comparison to the huge dimensions of the disaster. But our involvement comes from the heart because the bikes have a highly sentimental value for us.”
