Australian Cycling Team Adds Zipp Speed


Zipp is excited to announce a new partnership with Cycling Australia’s legendary track cycling program. As an official supplier, Zipp will provide front and rear Disc wheels as the Australian cycling team track squad pushes for world records and gold medals in marquee events including the team pursuit. As part of the new agreement, Australian cycling team track squad will ride Argon 18 frames with Zipp discs.

“Working with a wheel and bike manufacturer is vitally important to our performance gains leading into Tokyo,” said Simon Jones, Performance Director Cycling Australia. “Both Zipp and Argon 18 have a strong performance culture and capability and we are looking forward to what we can create together”.

The partnership is part of Zipp’s commitment to partner with cycling’s most innovative athletes and programs to achieve not only victories and championships but new levels of speed. The Super-9 is our fastest wheel, and Australia is home to many of the world’s fastest track cyclists.

About the Australian Cycling Team Track Program
Track cycling has a long history of bringing success to Australia with more medals being won on the track than any other discipline in cycling, particularly at the international level, including numerous Olympic Games medals. With the Australian Cycling Team’s main event focus being the Olympic Games, track cycling presents the best opportunity for gold medals with 12 Olympic medal events available; six in sprint events and six in endurance events. The Australian Cycling Team’s Track program consists of 22 male and female athletes (7 Sprint and 15 Endurance), forming the core track group from which Australia will launch its Tokyo 2020 track attack.
